Registered Nurse/ Ophthalmic Technician
Applications are invited to fill the position of Registered Nurse/Ophthalmic Technician in a busy doctors (Ophthalmologist) office in Kingston.
The successful candidate will assist the Ophthalmologist in areas of patient care and general office administration.
On-the-job training will be provided. Prior experience working in a medical facility or operating theatre is referred.You must be highly motivated and willing to learn.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and
experience.
Requirements

Be a licensed Registered Nurse;

Must have an excellent command of English(written and verbal);

Be extremely efficient, reliable, punctual,organized and detail-oriented;

Excellent time management and organizational skills are required;

Demonstrate strong knowledge of sterile techniques and patient safety;
-
Have excellent critical thinking skills able to work under busy conditions;
-
Be a great team player with excellent communication and computer skills.
Responsibilities
-
All day to day administrative functions;
-
Scheduling appointments liasing with patients and insurance companies;
-
Maintaining inventory;
-
Preparing patients for examination and procedures;
-
Instructing patients on medication, tests and procedures;
-
Performing diagnostic tests (eg.VF, Biometry, OCT);
-
Assisting in the efficient office flow;
-
Overseeing staff and coordinating activities.
